We are just 8 days away from opening night and I am so proud of the BOXES cast and crew. During the rehearsal process we focused on the individual vignettes, ensuring we were communicating the unique themes found in the 8 scenes. Just a few days ago we finally ran the show in its entirety. Anyone with theatre experience can tell you that the first runt through of any show can be a tedious process. But not this time. Despite a few dropped lines and ‘free-style’ blocking, the show was a pleasure to watch. Even though I’ve seen the show countless times, I found myself reacting with surprise to the actors’ choices.
The phrase that kept repeating in my mind was: ‘they get it.’ BOXES is not about performing for the entertainment of audiences – the goal of BOXES is to challenge and inspire. And this cast is doing just that. Audiences will be forced to reflect on their purpose in life, and they will be inspired to get up and do something about.
I am so thankful to the cast and crew of BOXES for their tireless efforts – the show is going to be amazing!
